Crafting in Age of Conan is different than most other MMOs on the market. First of all, you're going to notice that the speed at which you level up is largely dependent on your gold stash and your dedication to the profession. You need resources for everything and that means you might need to spend a ton of gold to get them. However, if you choose the right profession, start early, and plan accordingly, you can overcome all of the potential issues that might arise.

Starting at Level 20

Start crafting in Age of Conan at level 20 and don't let up. That is, you cannot necessarily craft that early, but you can definitely plan that early. As soon as you leave Tortage, choose which profession you are going to want to pick up. For gold making, you are going to want to choose between Armorsmithing, Weaponsmithing, and Gemcutting. That is, if you choose Alchemy or Architecture, you won't make all that much gold.

Second, if you want to be truly effective with how you handle your profession, start harvesting right away as well. Crafting in Age of Conan is almost entirely dependent on the resources every player in the game can gather. This means that you can pick up nearly anything you need simply by training for it in your training zone.

Level 40

When you reach level 40, crafting in Age of Conan officially starts and you can finally start making gold with all that time and money you've been investing. But, you need to play accordingly to do so. The crafting in Age of Conan is still largely unbalanced, meaning some professions like Armorsmithing takes a huge amount of time and resources just to complete one tier's quests, while one like gemcutting only takes a few lucky kills of the right mobs.

Since you chose your profession at Level 20, crafting in Age of Conan should be a bit easier. Make sure you researched what you will need at Level 40 before hand, making a list of all the different resources that are going to be necessary to gather to complete your Tier 1 and 2 quests. The most important thing you can do though is understand what is required of you. If you don't properly prepare, it might take you a ton more time and money than normal and it will only upset you that much more than necessary.

Crafting in Age of Conan Done Right

When you start to reach Tiers 4 and up, things get much more complicated and much more expensive. Most crafting in Age of Conan requires you to have access to a guild city at Level 70 to continue crafting and that means a whole lot of gold by the time you reach Level 80 - a Tier 3 Guild City costs more than 350 gold to complete and while you'll have a bit of help, it isn't an easy thing to get done.

Ultimately, Age of Conan, more than any other game currently on the market demands a huge amount of investment from its players for crafting. If you can effectively put the necessary time and money into the task, you can do very well though.

Just about everyone can dribble a soccer ball when there is no resistance coming from an opponent. Obviously however, there will be great resistance during competitive matches. So the objective here is to properly get young players comfortable and confident with dribbling while an opponent is applying pressure by endeavoring to gain possession of the ball. If any field-soccer player wants to improve, this skill is paramount.

These are the basic objectives that must be developed for young players and possibly others for maintaining possession of the ball.

1. Dribbling the soccer ball must be kept close to the feet around opponents. This is obvious.

2. But what may not be obvious is that the sense of balance of the body, needed for rapidly changing directions, must be developed.

3. Looking out around the field for open players and open spaces is another necessity. It can only be accomplished by keeping one's head up while dribbling. This of course will not happen with newly introduced players into the game, but it is one of the dribbling objectives.

4. Another necessity for retaining the ball while dribbling is to shield it from one or more opponents.

So what is the optimum approach to improve the dribbling skills for young players?

1. In general, precious soccer practice time should not be spent on dribbling drills. Dribbling should be practiced away from the soccer practice. But, there are some exceptions:

(a) The youngest players must be taught the basics via dribbling drills at soccer practices. There is nothing new here.

(b) After say two soccer practices, end the dribbling drills at these practices. Valuable training time is needed for spending on kicks, trapping, defense, shielding, endurance etc.

(i)Without endurance, soccer players cannot perform to their maximum abilities
and will make more dribbling and other errors.

(ii)A professional should be consulted on the optimum level of endurance training.

(c) Then, assign homework drills. Drills that are designed to teach

(i)the young player balance while turning

(ii)control of the sensitivity of touch on the ball

(iii)players to keep the ball near the feet when moving with the ball.

(d) Coach demonstrations and player demonstrations should be performed so the players understand their assigned homework drill.

(e) At each subsequent practice (after a drill has been assigned), players should be asked to demonstrate their homework skills for about 30 seconds each. Say two players at a time--to conserve training time. After each player has shown his or her skill preforming the drill, a demonstration should be repeated by the best young dribbling player. This acts as a teaching-aid to the others.

(f) Every player is to own and bring an identifiably marked ball to practice. While on the subject, water and warm clothes in cold weather should also be a requirement.

2. During scrimmage games, insist that players dribble with their head up and with the ball close to the feet when near opponents.

3. The importance of shielding the soccer ball from an opponent cannot be overemphasized. Shielding properly keeps one, or possibly two or three opponents from dislodging the ball from a dribbling player.

(a) Various drills are designed to elevate shielding skills from its most elementary level on up. Start with little opponent pressure, as the players develop expertise add pressure to each advanced drill.

(b) In addition, there is another drill especially designed apply the shielding technique. It is a variation of the monkey-in-the-middle drill. When done right and constantly overseen by the coach, players properly learn to shield the ball from aggressive opponents. Furthermore, players also learn to make safer passes to "teammates".

The following notes should add clarity to this article.

Note 1: Very young "talented" players often make "breakaways" and dribble the ball towards the goal unimpeded. Before taking the shot at the goal with only the goalkeeper in front, these players push the ball about two to three yards (or two or three meters) out in front of them. At this distance the ball is in an ideal position to kick it at the goal. Often these young players score against an unskillful very young goalkeeper, and of course the parents of the scoring child are elated. However, this may or may not indicate that this child will go on to be a great soccer player. That "skill" just witnessed is not a skill at all, because it was not learned. As the children progress up in age, opponent defenders ordinarily do not allow an attacker the room of two or three yards to set up the ball for the kick on goal. On older teams, this "tactic" is no longer a tactic. So what point am I making?

Competitive soccer players need to discipline themselves in keeping the ball near their feet when opponents are near. This is a necessary skill that must be learned for dribbling as well as when making attempts at scoring. It takes training both with dribbling and while employing the various types of kicks to be competitive as a player goes on up in years.

Note 2: Advanced players must also develop the ability to lunge in one direction while flicking the ball in the opposite direction. There are several of these feinting moves that a skillful soccer player must master, but they are beyond the scope of this article.

Note 3: What do the young goalkeeper(s) do while the field players are training for their skills? They need to be developing their skills. They need an assistant coach to train them on defending the goal, to practice diving and punting. The coach must instruct the assistant coach in proper goalkeeping-training techniques while overseeing these techniques until the assistant coach gets it right.

Note 4: Much of the above training information can be learned from good soccer books containing further descriptions and applicable drills.

I purchased this product as a Father's Day present for my father-in-law. After it arrived I saw (much to my surprise) that you have to live within their network area to get data. There was no way to access the website they provided for map of coverage area. It took a lot of time to figure out how to contact Ambient. After mailing it to my f-in-l I got an e-mail back from Ambient telling me there is no coverage where he lives, which is surprising since it is an hour from Philadelphia. Now I have to deal with doing a long distance return.

I read in the Daily Mail before the season started that we are the least exciting team to watch in the whole league. I bluntly refuted this rude and unjustified judgment of our underlying quality and entertainment. (Obviously blinded by my pre-season optimism).

My reasoning however, and in all honesty, was born purely out of an innate and mutual understanding that teams like Wigan and Bolton were clearly more boring to watch than the mighty West Ham. Surely that was obvious to everyone.

It seems I was wrong.

The team that Curbishley has masterfully engineered out of a deep and thorough understanding of West Ham United footballing traditions, turns out to be a group of spineless, under performing individuals who have left me entering a new week (once again) feeling overwhelmingly embarrassed.

People might question why I can feel so strongly about this after just two games of the season. I guess in response I would say that the fact it is only two games in, gives me reason enough to feel so strongly. The players should be fit. They should be strong. They should be fighting for their places. They should be aspiring for a successful season. They shouldn't be putting in disgraceful, lackluster performances or looking like a team who haven't once played together all summer. Who haven't worked on tactics or indeed, fitness.

Man City looked sharper, looked more innovative, looked faster and generally looked better. And so did Wigan.

There was no difference whatsoever from the team that we willingly endured last season. Not even a new kit.

Contrary to popular belief however, there are some positives we can take away from the game...the fans. I am standing up and applauding (in between posting) while I write this. Last time I checked, it's not free to buy a ticket for a football match, and neither is it free to travel to one. Particularly one half way up the country. The fans who traveled were in full voice throughout and were the only people associated with West Ham who could walk away from Eastlands today with their heads held high.

If you didn't see the game or don't know the result, we lost 3-0, Mark Noble was sent off in the first half for two (stupid) bookable offences and we didn't have a single shot until well over and hour of the game was played. (On the sending off note, we had the same amount of players as City until Noble was sent off, and for the last ten minutes of play because they had to take a player off injured).

Not a single shot. Not one. Nada. No shooting at all. No kicking of the ball towards the goal. "That's it son, kick it as hard as you can...well done! Take a run-up and have another go, you're doing really well"

We finally have a result that our performance deserves. There is not hiding behind injuries or lady luck after this one Curbs. No more false league positions and no more, "Look, we nearly got relegated last year. 10th is a big improvement on that...so you fans, stop being so fickle"

No passion, not organised, spineless.

The game of soccer is basically explosive. Typically in pro clubs, players will cover a distance of 8 kilometers or 6 miles in a game. That requires tremendous endurance, but most of the distance is covered with explosive running, in 6-10 yard bursts, one after the other.

So obviously explosive strength is needed, but endurance is required to maintain that over 90 minutes. We're starting to utilize plyometrics training in our soccer camps' training to help build this explosive power.

Before you begin...

Plyometrics converts existing strength to power, so you need to develop a solid, well-balanced strength base to build on. Players in our soccer camps usually develop a good groundwork for strength, and we help them improve before starting these advanced training techniques.

You want to start these exercises with fresh muscles at the start of a training session, before your endurance training or ball work. Warm up with 5-10 minutes of light aerobic activity followed by 5-10 minutes of stretching to all major muscle groups.

Minimize ground contact

To get the best results, actions should be performed at high speed and with maximum intensity. Don't cheat on the motion either. In jumping exercises, as your feet touch the ground, you should explode upwards rather than sinking into a deep squat. Think of this like teaching your body to fly; you want to minimize ground contact time.

In our soccer camps, we shoot for 120 ground contacts or less for each muscle group in plyometric sessions. Give yourself two minutes rest between sets. This isn't endurance training; you want to maintain good form and avoid fatigue. In late pre-season, shoot for two sessions a week with one to two days rest between. For in-season training, one session a week is enough.

If you're sore during plyometrics training, you're doing it wrong

Plyometrics training will not leave you out of breath, and will not make your muscles sore. If you're doing it correctly, you won't even feel tired. Our soccer camps' players usually feel like doing more than the recommended amount, but we tell them it's crucial to stick to the program to avoid injury and severe muscle soreness 34 hours after your exercises.

As for covert gaming at the office, you may have to choose between staring fixedly at a Motorla cell phone or your Pocket PC.

It's really no contest if it's a matter of corporate gamer subterfuge as the former is decidedly more conspicuous.

Not that Shanda Interactive's initial offerings are anything to sneeze at in the RPG category, though.

Admittedly, I haven't played a whole lot in the way of Shanda Interactive titles.

It might have more to do with their immense popularity placed smack on the Chinese desktop PC game scene.

Still, it will be interesting to see how closely they can emulate the gorgeous anime-like visuals of Magical Land and the sharp, detailed textures of World of Legend, as evidenced by their screenshots.

The Pocket PC isn't a slouch in the role playing game department, either, with popular PPC releases like Ancient Evil featuring the same Diablo-esque dungeon crawl creature kills as its desktop PC cousin in full isometric real-time lighting glory.

I've tried steadfastly avoiding desktop PC MMORPG games (massively multiplayer online RPG) games featuring large numbers of online players interacting in virtual worlds due their extremely addictive nature.

A recovering RPG addict, I have already succumbed to the frenzy invoked by Blizzard's Diablo dungeon crawl hack-and-slash series on the desktop PC platform a few years ago.

Interestingly enough, these first two releases from Shanda will appeal to the darker RPG junkie side that seems to inflict so many.

Virtual denizons of the desktop PC virtual worlds in World of Warcraft and EverQuest (dubbed EverCrack by my colleagues) will know exactly what I'm talking about, and Motorola cell phone gamers could soon be foaming at the mouth for more.

The good old days where the soccer coach can just go out onto the field and run some drills are long gone. With today's technology and techniques it is important to deliver a more organized and complete package to your team. This means a lot of work. This is especially so if you are new, or have not coached in a long while. So pull up your socks and get ready for a whole new adventure. 1. First on the list has to organization. Get an assistant or two if possible to help compile all the information needed. You can also use any extra help you can get from parents. 3. How are your motivating skills? Are you able to bring your team out of the losing rut and into the winning zone? Have you asked your team what they hope to achieve both personally and as a team? Do they know their weaknesses? Strengths? How about you as the soccer coach? Are you aware of your strengths and weaknesses? It is the soccer coach's job to have both a mental and intuitive knowledge of their team.

4. Ask yourself what is your favorite part of soccer. Then ask your team. It might surprise you to realize that some of them actually have similar goals and dreams as you.

5. Practice, practice, and more practice. My grandmother never played soccer but she knew if you wanted to be good at something you had to repeat the action over and over in order to excel in it. You have to know the pitfalls and be able to counter around them. It takes a lot of work to excel in something. But the team spirit will rise high if you work together and achieve even a small dose of success.

6. Remember to have fun. Even though there is a lot of work to be done, don't forget to have fun along the way. Everybody will work a little harder if they are having fun too. It is especially true of children. A pizza night out will go a long way to improve the team morale. So go ahead and have a pizza night. Tomorrow will bring a new day and you can continue the work then.

7. Never let your position as a soccer coach go to your head. Remember why you want to coach and coach with your heart as well as your head and you will go a long way.

In 1992 Charles pulled off a rare feat when he got both his mens and womens teams to the NCAA play-offs. His teams finished the season as number one ranked mens team and number three ranked womens team, helping to cement Charles reputation as a top-class coach. The womens team were winners of the NCAA Womens soccer championship in 2005 and are currently ranked third in the four major soccer polls; The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSSAA), Soccer America, Soccer Buzz and SoccerTimes all place the Pilots behind Santa Clara and Stanford.

In order to generate the most power, the player must have a good approach and follow-through. When your child practices shooting, you can advise them to approach from a slight angle and follow through low for a steaming worm-burner or high for a rising shot. After the child develops good technique and confidence, you should incorporate other skills with a moving ball.

While many children across the world train with trees or rocks for goals, the advantages of practicing with a soccer net are extremely beneficial. Having a soccer net of any size in your own back yard saves time and creates a realistic game environment. Yet the closer any one of those trees appears in your line of vision, your horizon shrinks and the tree blocks the majority of your view. Encourage your child to come out of the net and toward you as you approach and shoot. This will take away much of your shooting angle and give the goalkeeper a greater chance at blocking the shot.

As your child practices goaltending, you should change your angle of shooting. Make sure that your child stays directly between the ball and the net when you move from side to side. Having a net in your backyard can illustrate these positioning disciplines for your child.

Goalies also need to practice their kicking and throwing skills. Many situations during a soccer game require the goalkeeper to kick the ball to half-field or throw the ball a great distance. Because most yards aren't the size of a regulation soccer field, having a soccer net can allow children to practice these essential skills at home. Children can conveniently kick and throw the ball as hard as they can into the soccer net and not have to chase the ball across the yard.

Children's stories and scrapbooking... who would have thought they went so good together?

Kids are always telling stories and I would venture to guess that you are always telling your kids bedtime stories. Why not capture some of them in a storybook scrapbook?

You may even find that creating the story book scrapbook together with your kids will bring you closer than you ever knew possible. Besides helping them to express their emotions and capture their memories for the future... it lets you teach them life's little lessons with the stories of your life.

Here's a few "Storybook Scrapbook" ideas that you and your child can start with:

A) Custom Version of their Favorite Children's Book

Yes, it's plagiarism, but as long as it's for your personal use and not sold or freely distributed, there is nothing wrong with getting started this way.

After all, that's how story telling got started. One person recounted or made up a story and it was then customized and retold by others for generations.

All you need to do to turn the children's story book into your own personal story book scrapbook is to change the names so that your child and his/her friends and family become the characters'. Then add photos of your child and his friends acting out the parts or use photographs you took while they were doing the same things.

For example: If the children's story book is about a trip to grandma's house, then use images you took on your last family visit to grandma's and use your families names as the characters in the book.

B) Children's Trip Book

The next time you take a trip to the Zoo or your child goes on a field trip to the fire house... or any place they feel is fun; go along and take lots of photos.

When you get home (or no later than a day or two) record your child telling the story of what they did and what they saw. Transcribe the story and add the photo's for an instant storybook scrapbook treasure.

You could even use the sound track and the still and/or video images to create the child's story on CD video or DVD.

C) Playground Monsters and Pirates

Take your child to the playground and get lots of photos of them climbing, sliding, swinging and just having fun.

D) Story of Children's Dreams

Children have an amazing ability to daydream, imagine and to dream really big! Encourage your child to explore all the different possibilities of life and their fantasy worlds. Take the time to record and transcribe these dreams and stories.

You have probably heard of Roulette Sniper, it has been around for a while and it is one of the programs I bought in one of my many gullible and desperate times. The software is designed to be used in online casinos. The roulette sniper software does not work. Online casinos use software that gives them a huge advantage and there is no way to gain an edge.

So now there is Blackjack Sniper. This software is from the same guy and has apparently been in development for the past 2 years. The software sells for $39.95 (usually $149.99 yeah right!), but someone sent me an "invitation" to buy it for $21. I decided to give it a try, knowing I could request a refund when it didn't work.

I hate to crush your hopes, but Blackjack Sniper is basically just like a blackjack calculator that you can download for free from a number of places. Unless you have never played blackjack before, it will be of no use to you.

The sales page says that the software works using perfect blackjack strategy, combined with card counting and various other techniques. All you have to do is select options and how much you want to bet and enter the cards you are dealt and it will tell you what to do. You can choose to bet progressively or not and it will adjust your wager accordingly.

I used the software in practice play, as I do not intend losing money in an online casino. Whilst progressive betting with a basic $2 wager, the software adviced me to bet over $200 at once to make just $2 profit. Thank God I was in practice mode as I lost that bet. Without progressive betting it still had me betting huge amounts when the adjust wager button was checked. When I kept the wager the same (no automatic adjustment) I still lost over $100. I tried it at 3 different casinos and the results were always the same. Even when I won and got ahead I soon lost it all. Here is why it does not work:

1. Online casinos select random cards from the pack as if the pack were constantly being shuffled. Therefore, card counting can never work online. It is useless to try and use it.
2. This software does use perfect blackjack strategy most of the time, but this can be learnt very quickly for free online, by looking at strategy cards or downloading a free blackjack calculator.
3. Progressive betting is an option that will never work for long. Online casinos work against you, so it would be very hard to come out a winner.
4. The sales videos show the guy winning easily, but think how many videos he made before getting this one. It does not work like he says it does.
5. Using casino bonus money is not as easy as it seems. Many casinos will not let you cash out your bonus until after you have wagered it a certain number of times and blackjack and roulette often do not count towards the wager, so you have to play, even more risky games like slots.
6. The reason people will hype this up is because it is an affiliate program. The promoters will make money if you buy the product.

Hopefully this review has cleared a few things up. Blackjack is a fun game to play in a land based casino and can be beaten by using card counting if they do not use an automatic shuffler, but you cannot keep beating the online casinos. Please do not waste your money on Blackjack or Roulette Sniper. I'm off to request my refund.
